Jeremy Erickson

Jeremy Erickson is a computer security researcher at Sandia National Laboratories. He received his M.S. in Computer Science from the University of California, Davis, with a focus on Android security and privacy. Beyond his research activities, Jeremy runs the Center for Cyber Defenders (CCD) program at Sandia/California, an internship program designed to give high school through Ph.D. students hands-on experience with such security topics as malware analysis, intrusion detection, and vulnerability assessments. When he isn't working, he enjoys white water rafting, paintballing, tinkering with Raspberry Pis, and taking his dogs to the park.

Steve Hurd

Steve Hurd is a Senior Cybersecurity Research and Development Engineer at Sandia, having started his career at Sandia in 1987. He has worked on networking, server, and e-mail architectures, and beginning in 1999, on a wide variety of cyber security research and applications. He currently is the technical lead for a multi-year program aimed at expediting the transition of promising cyber security research into practice. Steve holds numerous degrees: a B.A. in Economics/Mathematics from University of California, Santa Barbara; an MBA in Information System Management and Finance from the University of Texas at Austin; and from Stanford University, an M.S. in Management Science and Engineering and an M.S. in Statistics. Steve is a California native, having grown up in nearby Walnut Creek. In his spare time, Steve enjoys listening to and playing music, traveling, hiking, and rooting for his beloved SF Giants and 49ers.

Stephanie Beasly

Stephanie Beasly is the Community Relations Officer at Sandia National Laboratories in California. She is responsible for K–14 education outreach, as well as engagement with local government, industry, and civic representatives. Stephanie also sits on the board for Las Positas College Foundation, Innovation Tri-Valley Leadership Group, and the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Foundation. When she is not working or volunteering in the community, Stephanie spends time playing with her kids, going to the beach or baseball games, and relaxing with a glass of wine. Stephanie has a B.S. in Business Administration - Marketing from Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon.

Craig Shannon

Craig Shannon graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a M.S. in Information Security. At Sandia, Craig focuses on finding new ways to detect and analyze malicious programs. Outside of work, Craig enjoys participating in online capture the flag competitions, programming, and staying active.

Kina Winoto

Kina Winoto works at Sandia as a computer security researcher. She graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in Math and then received an M.S. in Computer Security from Columbia University. She likes to focus on big data sciences, but also enjoys getting the younger generation excited about cryptography. Aside from her research at Sandia, she is co-chair of San Joaquin Expanding Your Horizons, a conference geared toward engaging 6–12th grade women in science and mathematics fields. Outside of work, Kina enjoys coaching gymnastics, trying out new foods, spending time in the sun, and doing random crafts.
